absolutely!!! I would use crumbled firm tofu, cooked with all these spices until there's not a lot of liquid coming out of it :) Make sure to taste as you go, the tofu might need some extra flavor so don't hesitate to add more spices to it
“The most delicious meat filling I ever had,” someone said. I used twice the cumin, turmeric, and paprika. Birthday girl wanted this for her birthday dinner. See loved it.
I followed your recipe in making the Toum, but it came out very lemony. Is that normal? [I used freshly squeezed lemon]. I was trying to make something similar to mujdei for my Romanian husband, but this version seemed to be overpowered by the lemon.
Sorry to hear that! Toum is definitely on the brighter side, it’s tart and garlicky, I wouldn’t say it’s close to mujdei flavor wise (besides both being garlicky haha). I should share a mujdei recipe one of these days!!!
Toum is my favorite thing in the whole wide world! These look amazing, Carolina!
awwww!!!
These look so good - what a great and easy appetizer option for the holidays! 🙌
riiight?!
Carolina, I love this recipe. It would make a perfect finger food for New Years Eve. I think I would use Lamb.
I wonder if substituting tofu for meat would work for vegetations.
Cheers
